RESIDÊNCIA ARTÍSTICA CAIBA (Catálogo Imaterial da Baleia)
Residência artística presencial
Entre os dias 17 e 23 de abril de 2023, participei, junto a outros seis artistas gordos, da residência artística CAIBA (Catálogo Imaterial da Baleia) no sul da ilha de Florianópolis/SC (Brasil). Anderson do Carmo e Jussara Belchior orientaram nossa experiência, cujo propósito era compreender a interação entre a arquitetura, paisagem e a relação entre a materialidade da gordura humana e a gordura das baleias que frequentam o litoral catarinense entre julho e novembro.
Além de explorar o centro da cidade e seus prédios históricos, alguns dias foram dedicados à imersão na água salgada do mar, envolvendo atividades de observação, desenho e investigação do corpo. Nos últimos três dias da residência, realizamos performances nas praias do sul da ilha, para o público transeunte.
A residência artística CAIBA (Catálogo Imaterial da Baleia) é um projeto idealizado por Anderson do Carmo e Jussara Belchior, aprovado pelo Edital de Apoio às Culturas N° 623/SMA/DSLC/2021 e patrocinado pelo Fundo Municipal de Cultura de Florianópolis, Fundação Cultural de Florianópolis Franklin Cascaes e Secretaria de Cultura, Esportes e Lazer da Prefeitura de Florianópolis.
CAIBA Artistic Residency (Immaterial Whale Catalog)
In-person artistic residency
Between April 17 and 23, 2023, I participated, along with six other fat artists, in the CAIBA artistic residency (Immaterial Whale Catalog) in the south of the island of Florianópolis/SC (Brazil). Anderson do Carmo and Jussara Belchior guided our experience, with the aim of understanding the interaction between architecture, landscape, and the relationship between the materiality of human fat and the fat of whales that frequent the coast of Santa Catarina between July and November.
In addition to exploring the city centre and its historic buildings, some days were devoted to immersion in the salty seawater, involving activities such as observation, drawing, and body investigation. In the last three days of the residency, we performed on the southern beaches of the island for the passing audience.
The CAIBA artistic residency (Immaterial Whale Catalog) is a project conceived by Anderson do Carmo and Jussara Belchior, approved by the Cultural Support Notice No. 623/SMA/DSLC/2021, and sponsored by the Municipal Cultural Fund of Florianópolis, Franklin Cascaes Cultural Foundation of Florianópolis, and the Department of Culture, Sports, and Recreation of the City of Florianópolis.
